The airline raises its flag with the name of Sociedad Colombo Alemana de Transporte Aéreo, SCADTA. A route network was developed with a fleet of 25 aircraft. In September 1920, the first flight between Barranquilla and Puerto Berrío was carried out and in 1929, other regular routes were included between the cities of Girardot, Bogotá and Neiva. In November 2013, the holding company firmly entered the international capital market on the New York Stock Exchange. In 2014, Avianca continued to expand its operation to Europe by inaugurating the Bogotá-London route, which later, in 2015 and with the arrival of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, began to be operated by this aircraft. In 2018, it began operations in Munich.
